The glass roof for the apartment in London, United Kingdom
We brought this project of a glass roof for a private residence in London to life in collaboration with Michael Kapelski, who simultaneously acted as both the client and the contractor.
Aestech and PEARTREE JOINERY & DESIGN LTD
London is known for its unpredictable weather, so the client was looking for a solution that met several requirements: it had to be aesthetically pleasing, energy-efficient, and capable of withstanding various types of loads.
To replace the old window, we used a structure based on insulated glass units with higher stiffness measuring 7 by 2 meters. The panoramic roof visually expanded the space inside, filling it with abundant natural light. The design is free of any metal elements, significantly reducing heat loss, making it comfortable to be in the space year-round.
It's pleasing to see that people within the industry choose us, as they understand the criteria that modern translucent structures should meet and highly appreciate Aestech's solution capabilities.
In 2022, the first international presentation of Aestech technologies occurred during the World Architecture Festival. It was the first time the world witnessed the capabilities of frameless glazing technology based on insulated glass units with higher stiffness. Aestech impressed festival attendees with its booth, featuring a massive all-glass arch as the central element.
The World Architecture Festival is one of the key events in architecture and development. Being shortlisted for the competition of this level is a marker that we are on the right track, and our solutions help architects implement big and bold projects.
