Aestech has created an Insta-location in Lisbon
A glass arch will embellish the streets of the Portuguese capital.

Another Instagrammable locale will appear in Lisbon. The 3-D glass structure, which last year became the main feature of Aestech's stand at the World Architecture Festival, will decorate the square in front of the company's Portuguese office.
The arch was part of the first major presentation of frameless glazing technology, so we decided to create something large-scale that fully demonstrated the capabilities of Aestech glass units. Thus emerged an all-glass structure, 3.9 meters tall, made from 23 glass units of various shapes and fixed at different angles, giving the structure a unique appearance from each side.
The specialty of the insulated glass units with higher stiffness allows for their fixation without using metal profiles — they are simply connected through a composite frame with a GRP profile. Also, thanks to the solutions from our partners at PARITET, a swing-and-tilt sash was integrated into the arch — all the hardware is built right into the glass unit.
We are confident that the arch will become an important tourist point in the area and its surroundings. Nearby are the modern pastoral center designed by Plano Humano Arquitectos, the Portugal Pavilion built for Expo'98, and the famous Oriente railway station designed by Santiago Calatrava.
Look for the arch at Alameda dos Oceanos 142.
